What can you give?

CFF can accept a variety of assets and complex gifts that many nonprofits are not equipped to receive directly, turning those assets into charitable dollars you can grant to the organizations you care about.

Cash

This is the simplest, most convenient way to start a fund or add to an existing one. Your initial gift of $25,000 or more can start a fund. Gifts of any size may be added to an existing fund.

Appreciated Securities

Appreciated securities, such as highly appreciated stock, are accepted gifts and may be deductible as a charitable contribution. Capital gains taxes can be avoided in most cases, and deductions can be taken immediately and carried forward for up to five years.

Real Estate

You can turn your home, vacation home, business property or land into a charitable gift. Please note that philanthropic conversations should start as soon as possible with this type of asset. Contact our team today!

Qualified Retirement Plans

IRAs and other qualified retirement plans can contribute to certain fund types at CFF.

Life Insurance

Designate CFF as the owner and irrevocable beneficiary of a life insurance policy, and you may be eligible for an immediate itemized tax deduction as well as deductions on future premiums.

Bequests & Trusts

Set aside a gift to a fund at CFF in your will or trust. We help you create a plan for your gift with no need to update your will or trust after CFF has been named as a beneficiary.

Conversion of a Private Foundation

When you transfer the assets of a private foundation to create a donor advised fund at CFF, you free yourself from administrative tasks and have a team of experts to assist you in your strategic philanthropic goals. Your foundation can retain its name, purpose and grantmaking discretion. We take care of the administrative functions, reporting and financial management.

When can I give?

Giving can be meaningful both during your lifetime and as part of your legacy. Many fundholders choose to do both, enjoying the impact of their giving today while creating a plan to support the causes they care about for generations to come. There is no right or wrong approach, and our team is here to answer any questions you might have.
