Your mission is made to last.

So is a nonprofit endowment fund.

A nonprofit endowment is an investment in your organization's future. Designed to last for generations, it provides a reliable source of annual financial support while helping you build long-term sustainability. An endowment can also inspire donors to make lasting gifts that extend their impact well beyond their lifetimes.

With Central Florida Foundation, you also gain personalized guidance, professional fund management, and a connection to a broader philanthropic community working to strengthen Central Florida.

Fundholder Testimonial

"Look, you can stay as a grassroots organization and do good work, but if you want to propel your organization to your vision, you have to take leaps of faith. That’s what we did by establishing a nonprofit endowment fund, and it’s been one of the best decisions I could have made for our nonprofit."

Silvia Haas, Executive Director, OCA

Nonprofit Endowment Fund FAQs

When your organization is ready to talk more about a reliable source, our team is here for you!

What types of assets can be contributed to our endowment?

Central Florida Foundation accepts a variety of assets, including cash, publicly traded securities, real estate, life insurance, and closely held business interests. Our team can also help facilitate more complex gifts, making it easier for donors to support your organization's long-term sustainability.

What is the minimum initial contribution to establish a nonprofit endowment fund?

A minimum initial contribution of $50,000 is required to establish a nonprofit endowment fund with Central Florida Foundation.

How does our organization receive money from its endowment?

Each year, your organization can receive a grant based on Central Florida Foundation's current spending policy. Alternatively, you can choose to reinvest that annual distribution into your endowment, allowing it to continue growing and supporting your organization's future.

Can we access our endowment fund in an emergency?

Endowment funds are designed to provide permanent financial support, so the principal cannot be withdrawn, even in an emergency. Your organization can receive its eligible annual grant distribution. We recommend maintaining a separate operating reserve covering at least three to six months of expenses for unexpected needs.

Will Central Florida Foundation help us grow our endowment fund?

Yes! While CFF does not directly fundraise for your organization, we're here to support your efforts. Our team can present to your board about the benefits of endowments, help facilitate conversations with prospective donors, and accept complex gifts that may be difficult for your organization to manage directly.

Why choose Central Florida Foundation for your nonprofit endowment fund?

When you establish an endowment with Central Florida Foundation, you're investing in more than your organization's future. You're investing in the community you serve. Along with personalized support, professional fund management, and charitable giving expertise, your fund expenses help support CFF's broader work to strengthen Central Florida. It's a way to build long-term financial sustainability for your organization while contributing to a stronger community for all.
