Creating a Healthy and Thriving Central Florida

A stronger future for Central Florida requires us to look beyond individual challenges and work together toward shared solutions.

The Thrive Roadmap is a community-driven effort to create a coordinated plan for improving quality of life across our region. Guided by the Thrive Framework and facilitated by Central Florida Foundation, it brings together residents, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and civic leaders to identify priorities, develop actionable strategies, and build a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Roadmap Basics

Why do we need a Roadmap?

We have many plans to move our region forward, but many are not coordinated. The Roadmap will be a community-shared plan that elevates all of our existing plans. As Dan Palotta once said, "We're not organized to solve problems in our communities. And our dreams aren't big enough to change that." The Roadmap will ensure we are organized enough to solve our community problems.

How does the Roadmap work?

The Roadmap process includes producing a blueprint for each of the 5 Thrive focus areas. These blueprints, currently being worked on by nearly 200 volunteer leaders, will inform the Roadmap itself. The Roadmap will not only include a plan, but actionable next steps for implementing the plan.

Who is leading the Roadmap?

This is a collaboration across Orange County organizations. Our steering committee leadership includes:

  • Tanya Hill (Florida Blue) as Co-Chair
  • Laudi Campo (Hispanic Federation) as Co-Chair
  • Karla Muniz (Herself Health) as Secretary
  • Caroline Nickerson (Florida Community Innovation) as Project Manager
  • Sandi Vidal (Central Florida Foundation) as Chief Advisor

Steering Committee Community-At-Large Members:

Alissa Mahadeo, Cherlette McCullough, Jennifer Haddad, Kathy Rovito, Jordan Vaughn, Magaly Dante, and Larry Williams

Where are we now?

We are looking forward to workgroups submitting their blueprint by the end of 2026.
