Philanthropy and Fundholder Relations

Neil Rios Laverde, CAP®

Philanthropic Relationship Manager

Neil Rios Laverde is a member of Central Florida Foundation’s Philanthropy team, where he works closely with donors, fundholders, professional advisors, nonprofits, and the Foundation’s Vice President of Philanthropic Strategies and Partnerships to help individuals and families make the most of their philanthropy. As Philanthropic Relationship Manager, Neil focuses on providing highly personalized service to the Foundation’s fundholders, helping them navigate their charitable giving, explore opportunities in the community, and become more confident and strategic in how they use philanthropy to make an impact.

Joining the Foundation in 2021, Neil has developed a particular passion for building relationships with donors and helping them turn their charitable interests into thoughtful giving strategies. Whether helping a fundholder think through their grantmaking, exploring a new area of interest, or planning for their future charitable legacy, he enjoys creating an experience that makes philanthropy feel approachable, meaningful, and fulfilling. For Neil, seeing donors grow more confident and intentional in their giving is one of the most rewarding parts of his work.

Neil is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) from The American College of Financial Services. He received his bachelor degree from the University of Central Florida in 2020, with a focus on nonprofits. His early work with organizations serving Central Florida’s LGBTQ+ community helped develop his passion for the nonprofit sector and continues to inform his commitment to philanthropy, community, and relationship building.

Outside of the Foundation, Neil serves on the board of the MUKTI Fund, where he supports career and youth development and leads the Queer Excellence Program. He is also the organizer of the Orlando Supper Club, an initiative focused on fostering community and meaningful connections among gay professionals in Orlando.

Originally from Colombia, Neil has called Orlando home since 2005 and proudly considers himself an Orlando local. When he is not working, he enjoys exploring everything the City Beautiful has to offer, playing volleyball, spending time at the beach, and dancing to live music.
