100 Women Strong Announces its 2026 Grantee Addressing Maternal Health Disparities
100 Women Strong is proud to announce Commonsense Childbirth as its 2026 grantee. This organization has spent decades advancing inclusive, compassionate models of maternal health care, and its work aligns deeply with our commitment to supporting women and families in Central Florida.
Our 2026 collective grant will support a two-year initiative that expands The JJ Way® and Easy Access Clinic™ models to improve maternal health outcomes for low-income and uninsured women in Central Florida. The project integrates perinatal navigation, transportation assistance, mental-health screening and support, and telehealth monitoring tools to reduce delays in prenatal and postpartum care and strengthen continuity throughout pregnancy.

A Two-Year Initiative to Strengthen Maternal Health
Commonsense Childbirth’s model rests on a simple but powerful belief: all women deserve respectful, culturally informed, and evidence-based maternity care, regardless of income, insurance status, or background. With the support of 100 Women Strong’s grant of $100,000, this initiative will work to:
- Expand access to prenatal and postpartum care for women who are uninsured or underinsured.
- Reduce preventable complications that contribute to poor maternal health outcomes.
- Provide navigation and support services that connect women with insurance programs, nutrition assistance, mental health resources, and other community supports.
- Strengthen partnerships across the region to ensure continuity of care and long-term impact.
By investing in this initiative, our giving circle is helping to create a more supportive and accessible system for Central Florida families.
100 Women Strong leadership gratefully recognizes volunteer leaders Allie Yadav, Kelly Daubach, and Kathy Rovito, as well as the entire Research & Grants Committee, for their dedication in researching this issue area and identifying where our collective grant could make the greatest impact.
Building on a Legacy of Impact
As we begin this next chapter with Commonsense Childbirth, we also continue to celebrate the work of our 2025 grantee, Nemours Children’s Health Sources of Strength program in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida. This evidence-based youth mental health promotion and suicide prevention program harnesses the power of peer social networks to create healthy norms and culture.
Our 2025 grant supported the expansion of this impactful program, allowing more peer leaders and adult advisors in our community to be trained in the SOS method. This grant reflects the long-term impact that collective giving can spark, and a grantee update will be shared with our members and community partners soon. Together, these efforts demonstrate how focused philanthropy can lift up children, families, and neighborhoods across Central Florida.
