THE FOCUS

Enterprising Black Orlando is an initiative that aims to strengthen Orlando’s Black businesses by promoting racial economic equity. Led by several local and regional organizations like the Central Florida Urban League, Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF), and the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, EBO is able to easily identify the nonprofit challenges people of color are facing and offer guidance in solving them.

CENTRAL FLORIDA FOUNDATION’S PARTNERSHIP WITH EBO

Our Role

Central Florida Foundation and Wells Fargo joined forces in 2020 to support EBO’s timely mission: to strengthen Black businesses in Central Florida. The partnership provided seed funding to get the nonprofit off the ground, with CFF contributing $50,000 and Wells Fargo contributing $25,000.

Our Why

Black and underrepresented businesses and households play a critical role in Central Florida’s economy, but they are also largely underfunded. The economic and health challenges of COVID-19, along with the loss of Black lives, made 2020 a critical time for Central Florida to invest in equitable solutions that support Black businesses and communities in the region.
