THE FOCUS

The Black Boardroom Leadership Institute (BBLI) is designed to ensure that Orlando’s nonprofit leadership reflects the diversity of our community, fostering an inclusive atmosphere where minority leaders have a voice at the table, not just a seat on the roster.

The Institute consists of two six-month leadership training programs, bringing together nonprofit organizations and leaders with a shared goal: to drive cultural change and create an environment that welcomes diverse voices to board service.

CENTRAL FLORIDA FOUNDATION’S PARTNERSHIP WITH BBLI

Our Role

The Foundation offered an initial investment of $150,000 to support BBLI’s mission. CFF staff and board members also serve on BBLI’s diverse advisory committee, helping us both to stay connected to the Orlando community and keep in touch with its progress toward racial equity.

Our Why

In a recent nonprofit survey, only 11% of nonprofit boards had Black members, while 77% of nonprofit boards continued to be made up of non-Hispanic white members. Working to keep leadership reflective of the Orlando community, The Foundation is proud to support BBLI’s progress toward nonprofit representation and equity.
