Table Talk gave us the space to talk openly and to see our challenges and our possibilities. That was the first step, now apply for a micro-grant of up to $2,000 to bring your idea to life.

Here are the questions:

  • How would you describe your idea to someone in 30 seconds or less?
  • Describe the who, what, when, where, why and how of the project.
  • How much will the project cost?
  • To which Central Florida region does your project apply?
  • Are you affiliated with a nonprofit organization?

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking:

  • Install a friendship bench designated for meeting your neighbors and engage in conversation
  • Turn a plain median or traffic circle into a pollinator garden with wildflowers
  • Start a mentoring program for youth or a buddy program for seniors in your neighborhood
  • Community education and discussion - pick a topic and host a panel discussion for people to learn, meet and talk about the topic
  • Have a free concert in the park
  • Do a feasibility plan to pilot a new bike path or bus route
  • Host a free legal clinic or finance workshop
  • Do a neighborhood cleanup, install bird houses or paint a mural
  • Build “little free libraries” in your neighborhood to share books
  • Host an interfaith meal for your religion’s major holiday and invite people from different backgrounds
