Now more than ever, our community recognizes the importance of delivering culturally competent services. Join us for a full-day workshop entitled LGBTQ+ Affirmative Care: A Competency Workshop for Mental Health and Community Providers with expert trainer Dr. Ashley Austin from the Center for Human Rights and Social Justice at Barry University School of Social Work. This workshop will help providers like you provide targeted and affirmative services to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals in our community.

PARKING

Parking is available in the SunTrust Garage located at 150 East Lyman Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789 and will be validated. Please bring your ticket with you to the workshop.

PLEASE NOTE

In this full day workshop, eligible attendees will be able to earn 6 CEUs. Drinks and snacks will be provided. Lunch will be on your own at any of the on-campus restaurants or the Park Avenue area.

Dr. Ashley Austin, Distinguished Professor with the Center for Human Rights and Social Justice at Barry University, is actively engaged in clinical practice, advocacy, research and training focused on creating LGBTQ+ affirmative communities. Dr. Austin’s has particular expertise in delivering training and consultation to enhance transgender affirmative practice in schools, health care settings, and mental health/social service organizations to create safe, supportive and healthy communities.
